Résumé

Responsible for leading the strategic execution and integration of Novartis US’ strategy to advance patient and community health-oriented solutions for underserved patients across business functions. This includes supporting the implementation of flagship stakeholder partnerships through collaboration with US functions and business units to drive our collective social impact by reimagining innovative approaches to advance the optimal health of patients.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Functional Strategy Planning, Prioritization, & Execution

  • Partner with Head US Social Impact to refine and operationalize the US strategy to advance community health solutions for enhanced patient access, including embedding the strategy across US functions and business units.
  • Build relationships and collaborate closely with key US functional teams and business units to drive strategy execution.
  • Work closely with US cross-functional partners, namely US Commercial, Integrated Decision Sciences, Research & Development, and Market Access, to analyze opportunities and barriers related to our strategic pillars and leverage analytic insights to prioritize efforts.
  • Collaborate with US Commercial, R&D, and Market Access teams to develop functional action plans for execution and associated KPIs, which align with Novartis US business objectives and our strategy to enhance patient access.
  • In partnership with US functions and business units, regularly assess opportunities to refine and update action plans to maximize impact, optimize resources, and ensure alignment with latest internal and external developments.

Cross-Functional Engagement and Governance

  • Drive enhanced identification of synergies and collaboration in development of cross-functional action plans embedding the patient access strategy.
  • Support establishing and operationalizing governing body for US strategy.
  • Collaborate in the development of function-specific and US enterprise focused metrics to inform decision making, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability.
  • Monitor industry, patient access, and social impact emerging trends, best practices, and advancements to identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and refinement of the US strategy.

Essential Requirements:                                            

  • 10+ years industry experience in pharma, biotech, such as commercial or market access
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic area-related projects with profit and loss as a metric for gauging success
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health disparities, social determinants of health, and health equity principles and practices
  • Strong project management skills, with track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes
  • Creative and innovative thinking that pulls from external insights and practices to strengthen and evolve strategies and programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in using data to drive decision-making.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • MD, PhD or other advanced healthcare degree preferred

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $176,400 - $327,600/ year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.  Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
