About the Role

Internship in Global Discovery Chemistry

In Global Discovery Chemistry (GDC) at the Biomedical Research in Basel, Switzerland, we are at the core of Novartis’ purpose, designing and making new molecules for treating patients. We are driving and supporting drug discovery projects with a highly motivated and diverse team of medicinal, synthetic, analytical and computational chemists. We are looking for scientifically curious recent graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in synthetic chemistry, computational chemistry or related field to join us for an internship in Basel.

Starting date: 2025

Duration: 3-6 month 

Location: Campus Basel


Your responsibilities:  

  • Independently perform experiments, evaluate data, and generate reports 
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of experiments 
  • Implement innovative technologies to contribute to cutting-edge research projects using your practical scientific expertise as well as guidance from senior experts 

What you’ll bring to the role: 

  • Recent Bachelor or Master graduate in a chemistry-relevant field (graduation no longer than one year ago) 
  • Practical experience in performing experiments e.g., lab based, in-silico, equipment and technologies 
  • Highly collaborative and proactive team member  
  • Good working knowledge of English
