About the Role:
The Headof Novartis Corporate Center Hyderabad is a role of significant impact as it heads the largest of our six corporate centers with over 8000 associates. The growing center bring together exciting talent, high performance drive, collaborative culture, multitude of business units and functions, leadership capabilities, innovation eco-system and economic benefits for the enterprise. This role provides leadership direction to multi-divisional and multi-functional site; and is responsible for all aspects of the site strategy. The role fosters enterprise value by bringing our strategy to life and promotes Novartis as the visible brand and logo of innovation, disruption and value generation. The role holder is a member of Novartis Healthcare Private Limited Board and India Country Leadership Team member.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of multi-divisional, multi-functional and multi-cultural Novartis Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, India. One of the top 3 locations for the enterprise, with 6-10% of enterprise headcount and fast growing in terms of creation of strategic and transformational capabilities for the enterprise.
- Responsible for providing strategic direction, promoting growth, leadership development, executive committee engagement, capability development, OneNovartis collaboration, competitiveness, reputa-tion, managing risk and external industry / government interface for the entire center
- Lead site board, comprising of site division leads and function heads in Hyderabad and together with the Board, develop strategic priorities and sponsor programs to achieve these. Build 3-5 year strategic plan and annual plan jointly with the Site Leadership Team, driving the annual plan process concurrent with global planning cycles
- Engage with senior executives such as CEO and Executive Committee and their leadership teams to pursue the site capability and enterprise value development opportunities. Execution of strategic projects, including productivity initiatives such as RPA and office space expan-sion
- Performance on productivity and competitiveness, measured against internal goals and external benchmarks. Manage relevant risk, compliance and controls environment and local statutory requirements on all areas of operations, including legal accountabilities of the legal entity as board member of Novartis Healthcare private limited.
- High employee engagement, engagement surveys, bolstering successful people initiatives, supporting strategic growth, retention and development of employees as planned. Ensuring continued investment in activities that promotes strong brand equity of Novartis as an em-ployer of choice. Driving initiatives that support strong reputation and positioning of Novartis in India (pride of association) internally and externally. Engage with external eco-system, including peer com-panies, innovators, institutions, and local government to progress on the strategic agenda.
- Achieve USD Budget for Site Operations; overall responsibility monitoring for financial compliance (Management Authority Limits signatory) and adherence to budgets. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with current and emerging external partners in pursuit of innovation in current and emerging NOCC capability areas.
Essential Requirements:
- 20+ years of proven operational experience in business leadership, technology leadership or business services leadership in global organizations; Experience heading Global Capability Centers is strongly desired
- Excellent stakeholder management skills. Proven track record of attracting talent and building high performing teams
- Track record of driving organization change and successfully managing large scale transformations including operating models, technology and business services
- Proven experience working with a range of solution delivery partners and methodologies. Previous experience leading innovation, delivery and global transformation programs
- GxP environment solution delivery experience preferred. Business fluent spoken and written English; and proficiency in an additional global and local language preferred.
- Master’s Degree; MBA or equivalent management experience
