About the Role:

With this mission, we are setting up a Data Services team at Novartis Hyderabad, which would work with the Chief Digital Office, Novartis Business units and industry leading technology partners, to drive the execution of Novartis’ data strategy, turning its rich data resources into real strategic assets to drive actionable insights across the organization. This ambition is one of key pillars in the broader digital transformation happening at Novartis to be a ‘medicines and data science company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Data Analysts, Data Stewards and Data Engineering Managers. Drive objective setting, development planning and capability building for your team. Drive operational excellence in resource planning, resource allocation and measuring and reporting financial, performance and quality KPIs.
- Expected to demonstrate strong people and business leadership skills, whilst enabling seamless delivery of data services internal stakeholders within Novartis.
- Delivers requirements of business teams and other internal stakeholders as per agreed SLAs (timeliness, accuracy, quality) and drive excellent customer service.
- Build business and operations strategies for assigned Business units. Build strong engagement with internal customers and drive adoption of Data Services.
- Work with cross-functional service teams to deliver integrated services. Ability to work as individual contributor (in certain capacity) to certain projects as Business Analyst, SME or Project Manager. Delivers services through agile methodology. Drive adoption of Agile methodology in the team
Essential Requirements:
- 9-12 years of hands-on and consulting experience in data management and engineering in a Global data driven organization
- Experience of leading a mid- size data/ technical team (6-8 associates). Experience of running the team operations
- Deep Understanding of Pharmaceutical Commercial, Claims, Supply chain and Managed Markets datasets.
- Understanding of Patient Services with knowledge on Patient Hub services and Patient Journey (Patient Intake, enrollments, retention) is desirable.
- Experience in MDM, Data Quality or Data Governance consulting with knowledge across multiple data domains such as Material/ Products, Vendor, Customer and Finance. Experience of executing large scale, high-impact data management projects or solutions.
- Ability to drive projects on Data Integration, Ingestion and Analytical Data Products
- Good understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical and physical models)
- Experience on data wrangling including Ingestion, Unification, Anonymization, Search, Master & Meta Data Management and Governance
- Experience in working with ETL process and programming skill for data preparation and analysis
- Foundational understanding of big data ecosystem, knowledge of AWS, Azure stack, GCP would be an advantage.
- Foundational understanding of Data Mesh, Data Fabric, AI/ML and GenAI concepts and agility to learn evolving technologies.
- Proven capability to collaborate, conduct, and lead sessions with Business and IT stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with consulting and senior stakeholder engagement experience
- Experience of managing project delivery with Agile/ Scrum methodology
