Position Title: Senior Expert Data Science
Location – Hyderabad
About the Role:
This role involves solving business problems by efficiently managing and analyzing data using data science, machine learning, and GenAI techniques. The candidate will deliver analytics solutions to Novartis, drive continuous improvements, and enhance stakeholder experiences. Responsibilities include discovering actionable insights, automating processes, and acting as a subject matter expert and change agent to implement sustainable improvements in processes, best practices, and organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and deployment of multiple analytics solutions for internal stakeholders, ensuring project goals are met
- Develop and maintain machine learning models, implement automation scripts/workflows to enhance efficiency and quality
- Translate stakeholder requirements into business deliverables, improve client experience through feedback, and implement agile scrum principles
- Utilize advanced modeling and analytics techniques to support cross-functional projects and develop data models, reports, and performance metrics for key business decisions
- Optimize data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes to convert raw data into actionable business insights
- Develop interactive visualizations and simplified user interfaces (UI/UX) using advanced tools to support data-driven decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement projects, develop standardized processes (SOPs), and adapt new analytics tools/approaches for process simplification and efficiency
- Coach internal teams on best practices, competency enhancements, and analytical techniques, facilitate user training on new solutions, and ensure seamless knowledge transfer and retention
Role Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- 6+ years of working experience in data science and machine learning
- Extensive classroom learning as well as on-the-job, hands-on experience of advanced AI models, selecting and applying suitable AI models for a given purpose.
- Experience with AI is expected not just at the level of running the code but deeper understanding models, their purpose, and the ability to interpret functioning of a model on given data
- Excellent knowledge in managing large and diverse datasets from multiple databases/sources
- Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, big data, and Generative Models (LLMs)
- Strong skills in Python, SQL, relevant Deep Learning frameworks such Transformers, advanced AI model training methods
- Experience in data visual storytelling, KPI development, and UI/UX using QlikSense and Power BI
- Proven experience in managing stakeholder relationships
- Experience with AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, and related technologies is a plus
- Hands-on expertise in ETL and data wrangling tools like Databricks, Python, and SQL is beneficial
- Pharma industry experience is an advantage
- Proven expertise in scoping and managing business intelligence projects
- Strong understanding of project management principles and processes
- Holistic understanding and expertise in quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and related areas
- Ability to work with data and create impactful presentations
