Summary
This role will help drive the development and execution of Novartis’ Data Strategy, articulating business value of Enterprise Data Management and support in driving various Enterprise Data Management initiatives with all relevant stakeholders in Novartis. This role also supports the capability leads in driving data management projects across capabilities on need basis.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Define, communicate and track business value of Data Initiatives to all relevant stakeholders with varying level of understanding of Data
- Collaborate with EDM Capability leads to drive Enterprise Data Management initiatives and projects
- Engage with Enterprise Data owners from multiple business functions in Novartis to understand the business priorities and define value measurement metrics/KPIs
- Define and establish value realization framework to continuously measure the value from a variety of Data initiatives across Novartis
- Initiate and drive adoption of value realization framework across data domains in Novartis
- Establish and drive adoption of data value metrics dashboard for leadership at Novartis
- Build and Foster relationships with major stakeholders to ensure Management perspectives on Data Strategy and its alignment with Business objectives
- Identify and Manage stakeholders as per varying levels of Power, interest, influence etc.
- Continuously assess changing landscape and emerging trends within the industry and bring relevant perspectives into the Organization for further deliberation
- Strive to bring External view and Strategic thinking to refine our approach to Data Strategy
- Provide thought-leadership to contribute to enable the culture of Data-driven decision making
- Identify Best practices across the organization and across the industry and provide inputs to Data management and overall Novartis Data community
- Drive clear communication to deliver and socialize key messages from Data Management perspective
- Provide advisory to Data Domains in creating Data domain strategies, aligning, and adopting the Enterprise Data Strategy and DM Strategy
- Strive to embed Innovation in execution and promote design-thinking
Minimum Requirements:
- 11+ years of relevant experience in Data Management & Data Strategy, with at least 2 years in Pharma/Healthcare
- Demonstrated experience in defining and measuring value for data initiatives for at least core business function areas
- Good experience across Pharma/Healthcare value chain. Experience in establishing value metrics and baselines preferably for Data Management initiatives. Demonstrated success in implementing Data initiatives
- In-depth experience of Data Strategy, Data governance and at least one of the below Data management areas such as data architecture, data modelling, master data management, meta-data management, data quality management including relevant tools
- Ability to critically assess and analyse Business use cases from Pharma supply chain. Ability to initiate and build strong and trusted relationships with senior level business and technical partners
- Strong Stakeholder Management and Negotiation skills
- Ability to look at the bigger picture, Self-driven and motivated Team player and Effective communication and presentation skills with good story-telling abilities
- Excellent Leadership and Thought leadership, Strong on Empathy and inter-personal skills and Cross-industry experience highly preferred
- 4+ years of international experience collaborating with Global teams
